Since the beginning of 2007, Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius have combined to make approximately $30 million dollars on Full Tilt Poker.

Phil Ivey has made an astonishing $15,661,019.27 on Full Tilt Poker over the past three years. Given that we only started tracking HORSE/Omaha Hi/Lo in July of 2008, you can probably safely assume that Ivey has made even more money on the site. Read the rest of this entry »

“Isildur1″ Wins $1.3 Million From Tom Dwan

Posted by RounderKevin On November - 10 - 2009

Ilari_SahamiesThere have been some pretty epic heads-up, high stakes battles on Full Tilt Poker in the past.

Phil Ivey vs Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies. Tom “durrrr” Dwan vs “martonas”. The list goes on and on.

However, Sunday night’s battle between “isildur1″ and Tom “durrrr” Dwan outshined any of the previous battles by a mile.

Huge pots. Several million dollar swings. Incredibly aggressive play.

In total, Tom “durrrr” Dwan and “isildur1″ battled it out on Full Tilt Poker yesterday for nearly twelve hours. They mostly played No Limit Hold’em, but also decided to add a few hands of PLO right at the end of the session. Read the rest of this entry »

October FTP High Stakes Update: Dwan on Top

Posted by RounderKevin On October - 23 - 2009

Tom “durrrr” Dwan has continued his rollercoaster of a year in October, banking an estimated $1.32 million dollars over 6,263 tracked hands.

Dwan on topDwan has been all over the place in 2009. He got off to a horrendous start in 2009, dropping millions of dollars to start the year. “durrrr” then battled back to breakeven status, only to drop millions of dollars once again.

With his October upswing, Dwan has battled back once again, and currently sits with a profit of $215k on Full Tilt Poker for the year. Given how much he was down earlier in the year, I’m sure that Dwan isn’t too disappointed with a profit of over $200k. Read the rest of this entry »

Posted by RounderKevin On October - 10 - 2009

There is just one month to go before the November Nine return to Las Vegas to determine the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event Champion and Full Tilt Poker is adding to the anticipation with a new promotion, Pieces of Ivey.

Considering that Phil Ivey has over $9 million in tournament poker winnings alone, the Main Event prize money is not exactly life-changing for him, but the promotion from Full Tilt allows players who could use an extra five-figure cash prize to take part in the action.  In order for players to participate, they must opt-in by selecting “My Promotions” in the cashier section of the Full Tilt Poker client.  Customers will see links directing them to the Piece of Ivey page, where they can officially register. Internet Gambling Law Expert Reacts to UIGEA Decision

Posted by RounderKevin On September - 4 - 2009

The story of the week in the internet gambling industry has been the constitutional challenge to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) brought on by the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association (iMEGA). Internet gambling law expert I. Nelson Rose comments on the ruling, which was passed down by the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

The Third Circuit tossed out iMEGA’s arguments that the UIGEA violated the First and Tenth Amendments of the United States Constitution as well as privacy rights and international treaties. However, the judicial body asserted, “It bears repeating that the Act itself does not make any gambling activity illegal. Whether the transaction… constitutes unlawful internet gambling turns on how the law of the state from which the bettor initiates the bet would treat that bet, i.e., if it is unlawful under that state’s law, it constitutes ‘unlawful internet gambling’ under the Act.” The bet must also be legal in the jurisdiction in which the internet gambling operator is located.
