Gimme Some Water..

Posted by KidKash On August - 31 - 2009

Busy weeks, been playing more lately and trying to get 200 heads-up games/week in. It’s very hard to actaully do this and much easier to say. Playing 9 or even 6 man games is by far easier when it comes to hitting volume when having the ability to play 6-8 tables. I have always played mutiple tables of heads-up but i just feel like my game suffer at more than 2 tables.. Read the rest of this entry »

Prahlad Friedman Wins WPT Legends of Poker

Posted by RounderKevin On August - 30 - 2009

Prahlad_FriedmanPoker pro Prahlad Friedman took down the 2009 World Poker Tour (WPT) Legends of Poker, banking just over $1 million for his efforts. He defeated 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) November Nine member Kevin Schaffel heads-up.

It took 127 hands of final table play in the Legends of Poker for Friedman to emerge victorious. After entering with the third largest chip stack behind Schaffel and Todd Terry, Friedman battled back, winning two out of the first three pots. Five hands into final table play, Mike Krescanko hit the exits in sixth place, earning $89,000 for his few minutes’ worth of work. Krescanko shoved pre-flop with A-Q, but ran into Friedman’s wired pair of kings. The flop came king-high, keeping Friedman in the lead, and Krescanko was drawing dead on the turn when a queen fell. In Tuesday night’s broadcast of the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event on ESPN, Daniel Negreanu and Erick_LindgrenbluErick Lindgren struggled in front of a national viewing audience as Days 1C and 1D of the Main Event unfolded. This article contains language that may not be suitable for all audiences.

Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth were featured during the first hour of coverage on ESPN, which tracked Day 1C of the 2009 WSOP Main Event. Negreanu, plagued by sinus problems, was seated at the feature table, while Hellmuth found himself at Table Two. Hellmuth arrived in typical grand fashion, dressed as Emperor Hellmuth and flanked by scantily-clad women, drummers, and a throng of poker fans armed with cameras. Posted by KidKash On August - 20 - 2009
BW002Been grinding it out pretty good this month even with everything I have on my plate. poker wise it’s been great. Been playing a ton of HU Limit Holder as usual and crushing it as usual. It has been somewhat frustrating waiting for games at the higher stakes. I have taken on a few guys to coach and help out with their games – It also helps me to be able to talk through hands and situations with fellow players so is a win-win! ESPN Begins WSOP Main Event Coverage Today

Posted by RounderKevin On August - 18 - 2009

PhilIveyFor the past three weeks, ESPN has aired preliminary events at the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP). Starting today, Aug. 18, the main event will be broadcast every Tuesday night for two, one-hour episodes until the final table is reached. November 9 will then finish out the tournament, and the results will be aired on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Unlike some previous years, the poker world seems genuinely interested in not only how this tournament plays out, but how it is shown by ESPN in the coming episodes. Several questions remain, such as: How will ESPN handle the shutout players? Who will play the part of the token villain for the year? How many people will win beef jerky from a Sasquatch? Who will get more celebrity coverage, Jason Alexander, Jordan Farmar or Lou Diamond Phillips? Read the rest of this entry »
