Full Tilt Poker released another major software update early Thursday morning, just a few short weeks after a problem-plagued update that left many people unable to play on the site.

This update contains a number of major changes that players have been requesting for some time now. In addition, to coincide with this latest update, Full Tilt Poker has launched their “Biggest Bonus Ever” promotion. More on that in a bit.

Justin “Boosted J” Smith Inks Deal with Full Tilt Poker

justin_smithAfter an excellent performance at the World Poker Tour’s first stop of their eighth season at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, longtime online professional JustinBoosted JSmith has signed a deal to be a Full Tilt Poker sponsored professional.

Smith, who finished third at the Bellagio Cup behind runner up FarazThe-ToiletJaka and eventual champion AlexandreallingomesGomes, has a long history of success in the online game and has recently been transferring those skills over to the live poker world. At the most recent World Series of Poker, “Boosted J” finished with a highly respectable five cashes with his best finish an eighth place final table in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo World Championship. Barney Frank’s Internet Gambling Bill Now Has 50 Co-Sponsors

barney_frank_usa_flagAccording to a press release issued yesterday, Barney Frank’s Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act (H.R. 2267) now has 50 co-sponsors in Congress.

Frank’s bill would seek to establish “a framework to permit licensed operators to accept wagers from individuals in the US”. The bill would also allow each individual state to determine whether or not they would allow Internet gambling activity, as well as letting them determine “other restrictions on the activity if determined necessary”. (July 23, 2009) -The Poker Players Alliance (PPA), the leading poker grassroots advocacy group with more than one million members nationwide, today reported on the success of National Poker Week activities this week in Washington, D.C.
