It has been a super long time since I have posted an entry and allot of you have emailed and asked if I am still planning to keep up my journal, the answer is YES! But time has been in very short supply as of lately. I am in the process of making my full time residence in Las Vegas. We are set to move in June so we have tons of things to get done around are house. We are not yet sure if we will be selling are Kansas house or renting it out and that is just one of many things we have to sort out.
I have not played in any live action games for a few weeks now, and frankly it has been nice not making a 3-hour drive 8 times/week. I have been playing on Full Tilt quite a bit lately. I keep getting asked “why do you play 3-4 tables of $1/2 no limit, why not play one table $5-10″ and here’s why – If you can get over the initial hurdle of keeping your attention focused while playing multiple tables, you will be better off playing more tables for less than one table for more! Let me explain that theory -
Poker is a game of long-term results and the key to No-Limit Hold’em is making good decisions. Occasionally you can get very “unlucky” make great decisions and lose a large pot. This is par for the course – If you are making your living playing cards then you come to expect these “unlucky” situations and you off set those with your overall success over the course of time. In the world of poker time is only measured in the number of hands that you have played, therefore you can play every weekend for 30 years and not have played as many hands as someone that has only been playing 2 years but played online 5 days/week for 8 hours a day! If done right playing multiple tables will allow you to see better overall results and offset those “unlucky” hands that we all face.
