Ted Forrest Drops $46K In Heads-Up $1000/$2000 Limit Hold’em Action

High stakes professional Ted “profbackwards” Forrest played two heads-up $1000/$2000 Limit Hold’em games during the evening hours on Full Tilt Poker. His first opponent was Matt Hawrilenko over on table Creep where Hawrilenko booked a $34K+ win in a little over 20 minutes of play. Around 35 minutes later, Forrest took on “Stwasi” on table Tuba and lost another $12K+ during the 40-minute match. After 204 heads-up hands played, Forrest had booked a combined $46K+ loss to his opponents.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan is up over $500k on Full Tilt Poker in 2009.

At first glance this is not a big deal, especially considering the fact that Dwan is one of the best poker players in the world.

However, once you see where Dwan was at just a few short months ago, you start to understand the type of incredible run that “durrrr” has gone on.

Up until yesterday, the “durrrr Challenge” taking place on Full Tilt Poker had been fairly disappointing to some people.

When the challenge was first announced, many people had hoped that Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan would stage some epic sessions and quickly complete the challenge. This wasn’t the case.

wsop-main-event-day-2b-brings-packed-houseDay 2b of the World Series of Poker main event has drawn to a close, and there will now be a one day layoff before the start of Day 3.

Day 3 will officially get underway at 12 pm local time on Friday, and will combine the survivors from Day 2a and Day 2b into one large field.

2009_main_event_bracelet_wsopA massive turnout for Day 1d of the 2009 World Series of Poker main event pushed the size of the field to well over 6,000 players.

To be exact, 6,494 players coughed up the $10,000 necessary in order to play the main event.

There was some $500/$1000 H.E.R.O.S. action running during the day on Full Tilt Poker tables Competition and Glade. Booking the biggest win was the player known as “Gagrin” with over $41K in winnings. Others booking wins in the action were “NEKOTYAN” ($13K+), TedprofbackwardsForrest ($9K+), and Matt Hawrilenko ($7K+). The only two losers at the tables would be David Oppenheim (-$19K) and Erick Lindgren who took a $52K+ loss in 187 hands played.

Poker Petition Nearly at 200,000 Signatures

R.I.P. Electronic Poker Tables / Pokertek Inc.

pokertek_tablesPokertek Inc. announced earlier this week that it would be pulling all 12 of its “PokerPro” tables from The Excalibur Hotel and Casino.

Greg Mueller Wins Second Bracelet of 2009 WSOP

greg-muellerWith only scant days remaining until the start of the $10,000 Main Event at the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP), the race for the remaining bracelets is heating up in the Amazon Room at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The final table of the $1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout, Event #50 on the WSOP schedule, played out deep into the evening on Sunday. A total of 571 players started the event on Friday, with the final eight survivors having won their way to the final table by winning two sit and go’s over the previous two days.
